Using Pictures or Images from the Internet

Whilst we have a wide variety of pictures and images available to us on the internet, most of those images would not be covered by copyright. That means that if a church wanted to use them in a print item, on their website or in the powerpoint slides during the sermon permission should be sought to use them.

A simple solution to avoid copyright infringement is to use websites which have public domain (you don’t need permission) or Creative Commons (permission has already been given to use the images) websites.

Some of these websites may have a section that has “free” photos, and also a section where a licence is purchased for the download of images. Always read the terms of use or license terms carefully before use.
