Initial Registration and Re-Registration Processes (including PMDP)

For Newly Registered Pastors

When approved for registration, new pastors enter a 2 year Ministry Supervision program. Upon successfully completing this program, they will be registered for an initial period of 3 years upon completion of a Personal Ministry Development Plan (PMDP). For simplicity of administration, all registration dates will either be linked to 1st of March or 1st of September.

The PMDP for newly registered pastors can be accessed:

Please Note: These forms are only to be used by pastors who are newly registered and who have never completed a PMDP previously.

For Pastors seeking Re-Registration

At the conclusion of the initial registration period, pastors must re-apply for registration.   Pastors will be notified of their impending registration expiry a couple of months before the actual date so they can begin to complete the re-registration application.  It is important to keep a continuity of registration and so pastors are encouraged to complete their re-registration application as soon as practically possible and return it to QB for approval.

To be eligible to be re-registered, a pastor must be able to:

  • Demonstrate an ongoing call to ministry within an QB approved context
  • Continue to be a member in good standing at a local Queensland Baptist church
  • Provide of a copy of a current blue card
  • Agree to abide by the QB Code of Conduct and other QB Policies
  • Demonstrate that they have a Mentor who they have regularly met with
  • Submit a new Personal Ministry Development Plan

It is the responsibility of the Minister to ensure that Re-registration takes place. Re-registration is usually granted for up to four years, but in certain circumstances may be less.  Re-registration is always dependent on the satisfactory completion of the current period of Registration.
