    We’re Hiring! Support Workers needed – from Noosa to Nirimba. We need some awesome casual Support Workers to join our growing team to help children sprout and flourish. You will be working 1:1 with our wonderful participants helping them to achieve their goals and learn new patterns of behaviour.

    • NDIS Worker Screening Check
    • NDIS Module Completed

    As a key part of our commitment to good governance, the Queensland Baptists Education Company seeks a highly motivated and qualified Company Secretary to join the Board.

    About the Role:

    As Company Secretary, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running and legal compliance of the Company. You will be responsible for providing guidance to the Board of Directors on corporate governance matters, maintaining accurate and complete records, ensuring adherence to all relevant legislation and regulations, administering all aspects of Board meetings, collating responses to Government agencies as needed, and ensuring the College Executives have the required access to Government Agencies and the portals they need to do their jobs.

    This is a strategic position with a significant impact on the future success of the College, and while governance responsibilities exist for all Companies, regardless of sector, a detailed and specific knowledge of the education sector, and in particular, as it relates to funding and grants.

    The successful applicant must be a communicant member of a recognised Christian Church and committed to following Christ in all aspects of their life. The successful applicant will recognise this opportunity as one in which they can serve the Lord, in His school, and for His Glory. The successful applicant must be in agreement with the College’s Statement of Faith and be a Witness in all things to our shared beliefs. The preferred applicant must also be endorsed and supported by Queensland Baptists.

    The role is a part-time role averaging 4 hours per week, and while much of the role can be done remotely, there is a requirement to attend Board meetings at the College, and other occasions as needed.

    This is truly an opportunity to support the direction of a truly Christian school, to help in the strengthening of Christian values, and to aid in changing lives and thereby grow the Kingdom. Through management and coordination of Board processes, the successful applicant will aid the Executive in advocating for Christian schooling and ensuring compliance with legislation.

    Our client, Baptist Insurance Services is a ministry of Australian Baptist Ministries. It commenced in 1984, initially in Victoria and then progressively to all other states and territories. It is now a national insurance scheme arranging insurance on property and other assets in excess of $5 billion and on behalf of over 1400 constituents. Due to the impending retirement of the current incumbent, BIS is looking for a new Chief Executive Officer.

    The Board are now seeking to appoint a talented leader who will help them build on their solid foundation and support them in sustainably but significantly growing their strong and profitable Insurance business here in Australia. Reporting to the Board, this Melbourne based position is primarily one of ministry through the operation of the national Insurance and risk management program for Baptist organisations in Australia, administered by Baptist Insurances Services Ltd. In addition, BIS operates a Discretionary Mutual Fund on behalf of Baptist Mutual Ltd., providing property protection to Baptist organisations. The incumbent will serve God by caring for Churches and other Baptist Agencies by assisting them with the protection of property and people and other assets entrusted to them.

    The position requires the incumbent to have an in-depth working knowledge and understanding of the Insurance industry in order to carry out the role with the required level of competence and professionalism. Additionally, the successful candidate must be able to meet the education and experience requirements of ASIC to become a Responsible Manager of BIS. The successful incumbent will manage and oversee the total insurance and risk management operation to ensure that all systems operate efficiently and effectively and a high level of service is provided. At the same time initiate improvements and enhancements to ensure the scheme is keeping abreast of industry trends and is at the forefront of scheme type business.

    We are seeking a commercially astute leader who possesses the ability to influence others, manage teams effectively, facilitate change and build excellent levels of support and rapport with their key clients. You will possess a minimum of 5 years management experience, have extensive knowledge of risk management and compliance requirements and have an active involvement in Christian ministry.

    The successful candidate will be strongly aligned to the values of this Christian organisation, be tertiary qualified in a Business/Commerce or a related field and have extensive experience in the Insurance industry. An affinity and understanding of their church clients from a risk and insurance perspective will be advantageous.
