About the Role:
As Company Secretary, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running and legal compliance of the Company. You will be responsible for providing guidance to the Board of Directors on corporate governance matters, maintaining accurate and complete records, ensuring adherence to all relevant legislation and regulations, administering all aspects of Board meetings, collating responses to Government agencies as needed, and ensuring the College Executives have the required access to Government Agencies and the portals they need to do their jobs.
This is a strategic position with a significant impact on the future success of the College, and while governance responsibilities exist for all Companies, regardless of sector, a detailed and specific knowledge of the education sector, and in particular, as it relates to funding and grants.
The successful applicant must be a communicant member of a recognised Christian Church and committed to following Christ in all aspects of their life. The successful applicant will recognise this opportunity as one in which they can serve the Lord, in His school, and for His Glory. The position requires the incumbent to have an in-depth working knowledge and understanding of the Insurance industry in order to carry out the role with the required level of competence and professionalism. Additionally, the successful candidate must be able to meet the education and experience requirements of ASIC to become a Responsible Manager of BIS. The successful incumbent will manage and oversee the total insurance and risk management operation to ensure that all systems operate efficiently and effectively and a high level of service is provided. At the same time initiate improvements and enhancements to ensure the scheme is keeping abreast of industry trends and is at the forefront of scheme type business.
We are seeking a commercially astute leader who possesses the ability to influence others, manage teams effectively, facilitate change and build excellent levels of support and rapport with their key clients. You will possess a minimum of 5 years management experience, have extensive knowledge of risk management and compliance requirements and have an active involvement in Christian ministry.
The successful candidate will be strongly aligned to the values of this Christian organisation, be tertiary qualified in a Business/Commerce or a related field and have extensive experience in the Insurance industry. An affinity and understanding of their church clients from a risk and insurance perspective will be advantageous.
