    Hope Community Church is looking for a dynamic leader who will join our team and partner with our heart to see the kingdom of God at work…….

    We are looking to invest in the younger generations of our church – children, youth, young adults & families.

    There is flexibility to shape the role to suit the giftings and passions of the right leader. We are not looking for one leader to oversee all these areas. The suitable applicant may be passionate about children and youth, or maybe youth and young adults. This is where we have the flexibility to shape the role to the right person.

    Hope Community Church
     is a growing church located just north of Brisbane. We are passionate about seeing people discipled and equipped to live in the power of the Holy Spirit.

    We currently see an average of 300 people join us for Sunday church in addition to other ministries that meet throughout the week including various prayer meetings, Connect Groups, Friday night Youth and Kid’s programs, and other outreach programs. We have 2 full-time pastors and two part-time pastors plus other ministry and administrative staff. We are close to starting a building project that will see our facility upgraded and better equipped to host our local community.

    The leader we are looking for…

    • has an intimate growing relationship with God
    • is passionate about seeing this generation of kids, youth, young adults and families, transformed by God’s love and equipped to step into all God has for them
    • has excellent skills in developing and equipping leaders and teams
    • will need to work well with the broader church staff and ministry leaders and have strong communication skills across generations
    • has a willingness to serve in the broader ministry of the church

    General ministry responsibilities:

    • Create a culture that aligns with the vision, values, and culture of Hope Community Church
    • Develop vision & strategy to accomplish the objectives of the ministry

    Experience/Qualifications

    • A relevant qualification in ministry is preferred but not essential
    • Prior church-based work is essential
    • Pastoral credentials/accreditation are desirable but not essential

    The interim’s hours and duration of term are negotiable.

    An Interim Pastor will be called to:

    The position will come with a salary which is in line with the Baptist Churches Western Australia Award Levels and will also include:

    6. Willing to work towards achieving the current strategic plan.

    1. Someone who humbly lives out his Christian beliefs, with dependence on God (exemplified by strong prayer life) and faith in Him, and who is growing in Christian experience under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
    2. Accepts the DBC Basis of Faith and has theologically balanced views on doctrines with the Gospel at the core thereof, accepts the DBC position and practice re women’s roles.
    3. Biblical preaching making the Word clear and relevant to the daily lives of the DBC members.
    4. Being a shepherd to the congregation, visiting, encouraging, supporting and training church members to develop and use their talents and gifts for the work of the church.
    5. Able to relate cross-culturally to the congregation, using appropriate language and examples.
    6. Able to cope with the district’s affluence while unapologetically maintaining his own standards.
    7. Having a co-operative leadership style, not top-down. Accepting the principle and practice of congregational government.
    8. Supportive of the church’s mission focus and also able to lead and train the church in evangelistic outreach.
    9. Aware of his own strengths and weaknesses and honest and humble enough to seek help where and whenever necessary.
    10. Having a good sense of humour and able to laugh at himself when appropriate.
    11. Willing to understand how DBC has worked in the past and to attempt to introduce change only after consulting and explaining why this will be a good idea. He should be able to lead and galvanise the church with a vision of its future.
    12. We are looking to appoint a pastor initially for 4 days per week, with a view to this position becoming full-time in the future.
