New Churches in New Communities

One of our priorities at QB is effective mission.

We are committed to supporting and helping to grow new churches in new communities so that more people will come to know the love of Jesus Christ. Here’s a story of a church that started as a humble church plant.

From Little Things, Big Things Grow – The Story of Lifepoint Rothwell

Lifepoint Church Rothwell is a story of how a humble church plant has emerged as an intergenerational ministry that is faithfully serving their community and transforming lives, in the heart of Moreton Bay.

Lifepoint Rothwell first started as a church plant at QUT Kelvin Grove called “Citylife’, with a focus on reaching university students for Jesus. After several years of meeting at Kelvin Grove, it became apparent that many of the new congregation were from the Redcliffe Peninsula region. A decision was subsequently made to re-plant the church towards the Redcliffe Peninsula region, and eventually renamed to Lifepoint. Upon their move towards the Moreton Bay region, Lifepoint initially met on Sundays at the Strathpine cinemas, then a gym, and then eventually the opportunity arose to meet in the chapel of Grace Lutheran College at Rothwell. This is where Lifepoint Church continues to gather on Sundays to this day and has grown to be a multi-generational church family that loves to serve the community of Moreton Bay and make Jesus known.

In 2018 Lifepoint purchased a piece of land on Anzac Avenue, located on one of the busiest intersections in Moreton Bay, and has worked towards plans and permission with the council to build a facility to serve the community and meet for worshipping Jesus together. In 2022, council permission was obtained and plans are now underway to raise funds and commence stage one of building a community hub to serve the local community.
