Meetings of the Assembly
The Annual Assembly is normally included as part of our QB Convention program, which begins with the Pastors and Spouses conference and concludes with Leadership Day which includes the Annual Assembly. The Leadership day program is open to all – members of Assembly especially, as well as other interested members of the Baptist family.
Leadership day will often include elements such as a Celebration Service, the State of the Union Address by our General Superintendent, together with the business sections of the Assembly.
The Annual Assembly is chaired by the Chair of the Board, or another Member of Assembly appointed by the Board, should the Chair be unavailable for the Annual Assembly.
The quorum for a meeting of the Assembly is the attendance of at least 25 Members of the Assembly. A quorum must be present at all times when a meeting of Assembly is considering any matter of business before the Assembly.
Only the persons whose names are entered on the roll of Members of Assembly will be entitled to speak or vote at meetings of the Assembly.
Together with the Annual Assembly, the Board may also call a special meeting of the Assembly at any time. At least one month’s notice in writing of each meeting of the Assembly must be given to the Churches and to all of the Members of the Assembly. A notice of a Meeting of the Assembly must set out the general nature of the business of the meeting.
