Queensland Baptists (QB) has negotiated group arrangements for a variety of copyright licences in order to assist QB churches with their enquiries and to obtain a discount through the group arrangements.
All of these licences are available directly with the organisations, however, churches would not be able to receive the benefit of the discount if that is the case.
The CCLI and BSML have an annual renewal date of 1 October. QB will request people to confirm their renewals of both accounts during the Annual Information Returns which are sent to the churches during July-August each year.
If a church needs to take out a new licence during the year, the church needs to make that arrangement with the organisation directly, and advise QB on their Annual Return that they would like to join the group deal for the following year.
CCLI Group Deal
QB has a group arrangement with CCLI which covers three of their licences:
- Copyright (CCL) – 30% discount
- Music Reproduction (MRL) – 15% discount
- Church Video (CVL) – 20% discount
These licenses have an annual renewal date of 1 October.
CCLI also have an Event licence and a Multi-Site licence available to churches which is NOT included in the group arrangement.
CCLI also has a software platform called SongSelect where churches can download sheet music for their own use. For a church to hold a SongSelect account, they need to already hold a Copyright (CCL) licence with CCLI. SongSelect is also NOT included in the group licence and needs to be known to be the location for purchasing sheet music, it is not a licence to use the music in the church.

Big Studio Movie Licence (BSML) – Heritage Films
QB has negotiated a group arrangement with Heritage Films for their Big Studio Movie Licence (BSML) which entitles QB churches to a 10-20% discount.
This licence has an annual renewal date of 1 October.
