Code of Ethics and Ministry Practice for QB Ministers

Ethics are absolutely the bedrock of ministry. The need for integrity is magnified in the present culture of intense scrutiny of the behaviour of people with a public profile.

The purpose of this Code of Ethics and Ministry Practice is to encourage ethical reflection and behaviour by all ministers serving Christ within the framework of Queensland Baptists. The term “minister” in this document applies to all persons recognised by Ministerial Services.

Compliance with this Code of Ethics and Ministry Practice is mandatory for all persons recognised by Ministerial Services.

The Code of Ethics and Ministry Practice is available by clicking

  • Code of Ethics and Ministry Practice

When there is an complaint of misconduct or inappropriate sexual behaviour against a Registered Minister in a Queensland Baptist Church, an investigation will  be conducted into that complaint.   The following guidelines provide a clear mechanism for dealing with such complaints while providing support to both the complainant and respondent during this process.

If you have any concerns about the behaviour of any pastor, please contact the Director of Pastoral Services or our QB Professional Standards Officer.
