Our History

qld-baptist-archives-minutes-german-650px
The first Baptist Church in Queensland dates to August 1855. Since then, Queensland Baptists have continued to work together in Christ to fulfill the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:34-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20).

Queensland Baptists (The Baptist Union of Queensland) is a body incorporated under Letters Patent on 5 April 1927.

In 2009, to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Baptists worldwide, and the 150th anniversary of Queensland (during which time there has been a continuous Baptist presence in the State), D Morcom, Vice-Principal of Malyon College, wrote a series of articles about Baptist history.
